What this privacy policy covers
This privacy policy explains what IPLokus collects when you use the tools on this site. Specifically, it covers the IP geolocation lookup, the Place ID tools, and the contact form. IPLokus does not require an account to use any of them.
Because the tools answer live queries, they send your query to third-party services. An IP lookup queries geolocation data. Meanwhile, a Place ID request goes to Google Maps. Those providers receive the query itself, and their own policies govern what they do with it.
Information We Collect
We only collect information about you if we have a reason to do so. For example: to provide our Services, to communicate with you, or to make our Services better.
We collect information in three ways. You may provide it to us. We may collect it automatically through operating our Services. It may also come from outside sources. Let’s go over the information that we collect.
Information You Provide to Us
It’s probably no surprise that we collect information that you provide to us. The amount and type of information depends on the context and how we use the information. Here are some examples:
- Communications with Us: You may also provide information when you contact us with a question or a bug report. You may contact us by form, email, or phone. We store a copy of those communications, including any call recordings permitted by applicable law.
Analytics and third parties
This site uses Google Analytics to count visits and to see which pages people open. Google receives the data that service collects. The Google privacy policy therefore describes how they handle it.
IPLokus never sells this data. Furthermore, IPLokus shares nothing with advertisers.
